Pumping Systems and Piping Arrangements
Bilge System
Centralised system with suction in each watertight compartment, each one connected to the main mainfold
located in the control room. In the engine room a wondering hose is connected to the main manifold.
1 x E/pump 400V tri phase, maximum capacity 220l/min with control stand at pump (reversible also to
to be used for firefighting system).
1 x Portable diesel motor pump, maximum capacity 220l/min for emergencies can also be utilized for
emergency firefighting.
24V DC automatic bilge E/pump in each watertight compartment.
2 x emergency suction in the engine room linked to the cooling system of the main engines.
High level water sensors in each watertight compartment with alarm repetition in the wheelhouse.
Piping material: CuNi/Stainless Steel.
Safety and Fire Fighting System
· Engine room Fixed Fire Fighting system FM200
· Centralied Fire Fighting System FM200 for the control room and garage with automatic/manual activation via levers positioned on the main deck.
· Saltwater Fire Fighting System provided of one E/pump 400V tri phase (interchangeable with the bilge pump) with maximum capacity 200l/min, located in the control room and connected to the garage sprinkler system and to 4 hydrants, 3 accessible from the main deck and the other one from the lower.
The pump control command is on the wheelhouse touch screen on the main switchboard in the control room and next to the anchor windlasses. The pump is also used for the chain washing.
· Portable diesel motor pump with maximum capacity 220l/min for emergencies.
· Fire Alarm with smoke detection system installed in the engine room, control room, in all cabins and upper deck areas, connected to a visual and acoustic fire alarm with a dedicated monitor and control box in the wheelhouse. High temperature sensor in the engine room and galley.
· Powder, foam and CO2 fire portable extinguishers.
· Water mist system for protection of the garage area.
· Detection system of fuel vapors in the garage connected to the main fire alarm.
Fuel System
Total fuel system capacity – approx. 12,400 litres distributed between daily tanks (approx. 4,100 litres) and main storage tanks (approx. 8,300 litres).
The fuel transfer is provided by a main transfer pump (400V tri phase), controlled from the main electrical
panel and from the wheelhouse touch screen monitor where the automatic transfer can be set.
The daily tanks feed the main manifold on which are connected the suction hoses for the main engines and generators with their own filters.
Fresh Water System
Fresh water tank capacity – approx. 2,500 litres
The freshwater system main components are:
· A water pressure system made up of two E/pumps, one 400V tri phase and one 24V maximum capacity
140 l/min installed in the engine room supplying water to all sinks, showers, toilets, bidet, domestic appliances
and deck shower heads.
· 2 x boilers of 150l in stainless steel located in the control room.
· 1 x E/pump 400V tri phase for hot water circulation.
· Water maker 180l/h.
Grey & Black Water System
Capacity of approx. 600 litres for run-off water collection. The tank level is displayed in the wheelhouse touch
Screen monitor and also on the main electrical switchboard.
1 x 400V tri phase E/pump with a maximum capacity of 42 l/min. The pump can be controlled automatically or manually.
Black water system is made of a structural tank located in the engine room with a capacity of approx. 850 l for
the collection of all the WC’s discharge. Tank level is displayed in the wheelhouse touch screen monitor and on the main electrical switchboard in the control room
1 x 400V tri phase E/pump with maximum capacity of 42 l/min for black water discharge. Manually operated
pump from the wheelhouse touch screen monitor or from the main electrical switchboard.
1 x 400V tri phase E/pump with a maximum capacity of 42 l/min installed in the engine room (in bypass) to be used as a spare pump for both systems.
Sea Water System
· An independent E/hydraulic unit for trim tabs.
· An independent E/hydraulic unit for gangway, garage hatch and for the haulage and launching system of the
Tender.
· An independent E/hydraulic for the lift swimming platform.
Each fitted with a dedicated oil collecting tank and a separate circuit.
Main Engines & Main Generators Exhaust
An independent E/hydraulic Main exhaust pipes used for the piping in the “dry” areas of the raiser and also for the piping area cooled with sea water.
Underwater discharge structural pipes in GRP, fairing sections to facilitate the gas release.
Gen sets gas exhaust pipe system made in approved rubber housing, muffler and water/smoke separator
In GRP for noise reduction. Gas discharge on the side of the vessel and water one under the water line.
Scuppers for rain and fresh water located on the main deck and flybridge discharge directly overboard.
Ventilation
Engine Room Ventilation
2 x reversible E/ventilators 400V tri phase with total capacity of approx. 5,000 m3/h for ventilation of the engine
Room with speed control.
1 x E/circulator 400V tri phase for air circulation under garage box.
1 x E/extractor 400V tri phase for control room ventilation.
1 x 24V E/air extractor flame proof for the garage extraction.
Extraction System for Bathroom Areas
Air extraction is provided for bathrooms, galley, technical area under the wheelhouse and laundry by dedicated
E/extractor 230V single phase.
Air Conditioning
Air conditioning system with total capacity of approx. 240,000 Btu/h.
Electrical System
Main Characteristics
· 400V tri phase, 50 Hz for main power circuits.
· 230V single phase, 50 Hz for lighting systems, domestic appliances.
· 24V DC with negative to earth for low power circuits, visual signals, emergency lighting, electronics,
Communication systems and main engine starter.
· 12V DC for main generator starting and VHF.
Power Sources
Generator Sets
2 x generators 45kW, 400V tri phase, 50 Hz located in the engine room. 12V DC switchboard for starting
Control and an hour counter and a control located on the wheelhouse touch screen monitor.
Shore Connection
1 x 400 V tri phase, 63A, 4 poles shore power connection located in the stern area and connected with
an isolation transformer 400V/400V tri phase, 45KVA to provide 230V.
Batteries
Service Batteries – 660 Ah/24 V DC gel accumulator battery bank in the engine room.
Gel battery 56Ah/12V DC dedicated to VHF emergency use.
Main Engine Starting Batteries
2 sets of AGM batteries with a capacity of 240Ah@24V DC for startup of the main engines. High capacity
batteries instant discharging type – 1200A.
MTU Engine Electronic Batteries
Battery pack with a total capacity of 200Ah@24V DC for the electronics system of the main engines.
Generator Staring Batteries
2 sets of AGM batteries with a capacity of 140Ah@12V DC each
Emergency Batteries
Set of emergency gel batteries with total capacity of 200 Ah 24V DC.
Battery chargers – to recharge service, VHF, emergency, main engines (starting and electronics)
and generator set starting batteries.

Alarms
· Engine and gearbox alarm repeaters in the wheelhouse and on the fly bridge dashboard.
· Fuel high/low level alarm on wheelhouse touch screen monitor.
· Fresh water high/low level alarm on wheelhouse touch screen monitor.
· Grey and black water high level alarm on wheelhouse touch screen monitor.
Bilge water high level alarm on wheelhouse touch screen monitor and on the main switchboard in the
wheelhouse.
· Smoke detection alarm for all inside areas of the vessel on wheelhouse touch screen monitor.
· Alarm for missing closing of hydraulic gangway and of the swimming ladder on wheelhouse touch
Screen monitor.
· Alarm for the missing closing of the garage hatch on wheelhouse touch screen monitor.
